GOLD STAR SERVICE

We will assess you for a Riser Recliner Chair and demonstrate any of our Riser Recliner Chairs to you prior to purchase in a wide area around Milton Keynes, Luton and Dunstable . This will enable you to choose your favourite material and ensure that not only everything matches but the Riser Recliner Chair fits into your room.

One of our qualified engineers will deliver your Riser Recliner Chair, show you how to use it, and ensure you are happy.

A larger single motor Riser Recliner Chair for the medium to tall user.

The seat and backrest move together which gives a very comfortable reclining action.

The Riser Recliner Chair has a good "TV watching" position where legs are elevated and the back only slightly reclined and a further reclined position perfect for a snooze!

We will need to measure you for this chair so cannot sell them outside of our area.

Chatsworth comes in a choice of seat heights, widths, depths and back heights and there are three different backrest options - firm winged back, soft foam back or "waterfall" back with zipped hollow fibre pillows.

Options for the Riser Recliner Chair include wooden handgrips, armcaps and rechargeable battery backup.

AJ Way's Chatsworth chairs are available with 2.5 inch (65mm) wider seats. Both models can have up to 3 inch (75mm) deeper seats in multiples of 1 inch (25mm) and up to 2 inch (20mm) shallower seats in multiples of 1 inch (25mm) at extra cost. Their seat heights can similarly be raised in multiples of 1 inch (25mm) and their backs can be raised or lowered 2 inches (50mm).

The chair can be manufactured with the option of visco-elastic pressure distributing foam in the seat. A wide choice of upholstery fabrics exists, including soft covers, vinyl and specialist waterproof, breathable fabrics. Stain resistant treatments are available on some covers. A customer cover can be used if it is suitable and it is accompanied by a current fire regulations certificate. The chair can also include Probax.

Developed by Donna Jackson, a certified

Prosthetist of 20 years’ standing, the patented

ProBaxTM seating concept aims to maintain

correct curvature of the spine, eliminate reverse

pelvic tilt, minimise pressure under the coccyx,

manage the ischial pressure points and limit

pressure under the hamstring muscles whilst

supporting the pelvis. ProBax™ technology aims

to open up the angle between the trunk and

thighs, induce lordosis and reduce spinal disc

pressure, allowing the body’s weight to be

maintained via the skeletal structure rather

than the muscles. Simple adjustments to the

makeup of the seat foam enable the sitter to

achieve greater contact with the seat and back

of a chair without the need for any visible

alteration to the chair’s appearance. Using

biomechanical principles ProBaxTM aims to tilt

the pelvis gently forward enabling correct

alignment of the spine and an enhanced

sitting posture whilst relieving strain

on the back muscles and reducing

muscle fatigue and back pain

associated with prolonged sitting.

Weight should then be distributed

more evenly upon the ischial

tuberosities (sit bones). The Lotus

car company fit ProBaxTM in their

Elise and Exige models of sports car which have

received rave reviews for the comfort and

supportiveness of the seats. Major airlines are

also carrying out trials on the NuBax product.

A.J.Way & Co. Ltd has worked closely with

prosthetist Donna Jackson and physiotherapist

David Hughes of NuBax on the integration of

ProBaxTM into the A.J.Way range with the

following thoughts in mind:

Improved seated posture provides a good

starting position from which to get in and

out of the chair

Respiratory function & digestion may be

enhanced by encouraging a more upright

posture

Improved posture may assist in reducing pain

caused by insufficient support

Postural stability can give the sitter an

improved sense of support & security

Encouraging the upright seated posture has

been shown to stimulate the processes that

maintain balance when walking and may

therefore help to prevent falls

Good comfort & support may help reduce

agitation, especially for clients with dementia

Improved seated posture may help encourage

communication & social interaction

Improved circulation, especially to the lower

limbs & buttocks should aid prevention of

tissue breakdown & should reduce risks of

DVT-like events associated with longterm

sitting

Tests have indicated a beneficial result in

terms of comfort, posture & venous blood

flow for the vast majority of users
