How the Minivator Stairlift seat swivels
Swivelling Your Minivator Stairlift Seat
When you arrive at the top of a staircase your stairlift seat should be turned to face the landing by using the swivel lever or control.
The Simplicity 950 stairlift has a manual swivel levers on both the left and right hand side of the seat. To operate either lever can be moved downwards: the seat is then moved round by moving the feet on the footplate to ‘walk’ the lift round.
The Minivator 1000 and 2000 stairlifts also have manual swivel levers located on both sides of the seat: these can be operated by pulling them up or pushing them down. As with the Simplicity 950 the seat is moved around by pressing against the footplate whilst turning in the desired direction.
For users who find it difficult to swivel the stairlift manually both the 1000 and 2000 stairlifts can be supplied with a powered swivel. This may also be more suitable for individuals with degenerative conditions.
The powered swivel is easy to operate, pressure is simply maintained on the operating toggle. When the stairlift reaches the end of its travel it will automatically rotate to face the landing. The procedure is reversed when descending the stairs.
